   Proposal Description:
   We aim to investigate functional predictors of disease progression in FTD, in comparison to AD. More specifically, we would like to examine the CDR-FTLD, in conjunction with functional scales such as the FAQ, and using Rasch analysis we will identify similarities and differences in functional milestones in both dementias. We also aim to identify factors influencing admission to permanent residential care in FTD. We would also need to control for other dementia variables such as cognitive assessment screening, such as the MMSE) and behavioural deficits (such as the NPI) Three main FTD subtypes: behavioural variant semantic dementia, progressive nonfluent aphasia, Alzheimer???s disease (control group)
